Weekly Recap Week 5

 Hi everyone,

Honestly this week was over so quickly that I almost forgot to write about it here. The weather has been incredible and I had lots of things to do so I had to find the right balance between enjoying the weather and being productive. I think I did quite well in that department. This week I have been working very consistently on my MA thesis, so progress was made on that project. You could even say I made some big steps.

In the book department this week was an exciting one. I didn't finish many books, in fact I only finished one; that being The Fellowship of the Ring by Tolkien. I have been taking my time with this book and really thoroughly enjoying my reread of it. I didn't want to rush through it even though there was a very exciting reason to want to finish it. (I'll come back to that later ofc). The reread was so nostalgic. It warmed my heart to read about all my favourite characters again, everytime an iconic moment was reached I just got extremely happy and excited. The fact that I am rereading the trilogy makes me want to rewatch the movies again. I'm in that kind of mood now.

Why I was so excited to finish the book? Well, you probably haven't missed it. Suzanne Collins published a new The Hunger Games book named Sunrise on the Reaping about Haymitch's games. A friend and I were talking about how excited we were for this book. We never dared to dream about this book being published, the closest we got was fanfiction. 13-year old me would have absolutely died due to excitement, and well... so did 24-year-old me. I had forgotten to preorder the book, so on the day it was published I went to the store to get it, to then be told that the English editions still had to be ordered... They offered to put one aside for me once they got them, and I agreed to that since I was still reading a book at the time. But the estimated the book to arrive next week. My happiness was dimmed a little by that thought, but then on thursday I got the call that the book was in. On friday I picked it up and had this beautiful copy in my hands. Sunday I got to start it, which still makes me so excited. I'm simply very glad I managed to avoid spoilers till then.

Monday I ended up baking blondies for the first time. While baking I was unsure about the recipe. I though it was all doomed to fail. The blondies needed extra baking time because one side was still raw. I had my fingerscrossed the entire time; hoping that the other side would not get too dry. In the end they were delicious and I'll be making them again for sure. On friday I enjoyed the weather with a close friend. My health issues made us change the plans though. We were supposed to go picnicking, but unfortunately I was out of nowhere drained of all my energe, so getting there was not going to work for me. So she came to my place and together we played Battleship and we enjoyed our sandwiches. It ended up being great anyway.

When it comes to the music department I have been listening to my massive playlist containing all my music on shuffle for the entire week. But besides that I have been enjoying listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack while reading the book. This resulted in Howard Shore overtaking my entire spotify. I would not be surprised to see this man pop up in my spotify wrapped (whoopsie)

I hope you all had a lovely week, and will have a great new week!

Love,

Kirsten
