Weekly Recap week 4
Hi everyone!
Last week was kind of all over the place to be honest. On monday I went to visit the city Utrecht together with my mom. This was a step in my journey of getting back to full health. We visited a few bookstores, had a nice lunch, and visited the Lego store — all while enjoying the beautiful sunny weather.
In the end I ended up buying the Grogu lego set, my first set since I was a kid. I was so excited to finally get a set. I promised myself that I would keep it closed till saturday so I could dedicate the entirety of the day working on the set. I ended up doing just that, and I loved every part of it. I genuinly felt like I was a kid again. I could have kept building after this set, but I don't have any other Lego (yet).
Besides Lego I ended up buying two books. The first being 11/22/63 by Stephen King. This was a book I had been eyeing for a while. I simply heard so many other Stephen King lovers about this book, that I had to get it once it caught my eye in the bookstore. The second book was Blood over Bright Haven by M.L. Wang. I have never ready anything by this author before, but this book kept showing up on my socials and it made me so enthusiastic that I just wanted to try it.
Speaking of books, this week I started reading The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, which is a reread for me. As we speak I'm about half way through. I'm again reminded about how much I love these books, but also that they are quite tough to get through. I'm loving every second of it, and it has made my life goal of living like a hobbit resurface. Trying to live like a hobbit I decided to make some nice dinners, I baked blondies yesterday, and I am thoroughly enjoying reading as usual. While reading I have been enjoying all the Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit movie music as well, it feels so immersive.
Besides this, I also read A Man Called Ove by Frederik Backman. A full review I'll write in this month's wrap up, but my introduction to Backman's work was a 5 star rating for sure. I really enjoyed every second of it.
Honestly, I didn't enjoy many other types of media throughout this week. I have been enjoying the weather, working on my thesis, and reading. The only other thing I did this week was follow the starts of the new season of Formula 1; this meant a very early start of my Sunday morning at 5 am, but it was well worth it!
I hope you all had a great week!
Love,
Kirsten
