Weekly recap week 7

 Hi everyone,

Well, let's be honest here. The last two weeks have been kind of challenging for me, since I had a pretty big flare up of my chronic illness. So I had to deal with the consequences of that and the accompanying doctor's appointment. In the meantime I have started doing better. But it meant that it had consequences for what I did this week.

I ended up finishing The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Though I can see why others might love it, it simply wasn't for me. It didn't get a grip on me, and I was simply waiting for it to be over. Still now thinking about it, I feel very disappointed that it did not live up to mu expectations.
After finishing this book, I went on to start my bookclub read for this month, which is The End of Loneliness by Benedict Wells. So far I'm almost halfway through, and to be honest I am loving it so far. It is an complex story about grief, following 3 siblings after they lose their parents. It shows how they all grieved differently; where this grief took them in life; how this influenced their bond as siblings. I honestly can't wait to continue this as I'm writing this.

This week I was also very much in the mood to watch some films. Especially, to rewatch the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Unfortunately, life had other plans. Where I'm from the films are not available on a streaming service, but, thank goodness, I have them on DVD. Cue my DVD player dying on me, literally the moment I start The Fellowship of the Ring. So no Lord of the Rings for me. My back up plan was to rewatch The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, an all time favorite of mine since childhood. You've guessed it right. My Disney+ was acting up for some reason. Eventually I started the film, but halfway through I was so tired that I decided to finish the film the next day. Then why did the app not save where I was in the film, and refused to move to that part; just playing from the start again. I was done with this, and decided to just watch no more films this week.

This weekend had stunning weather again, so I decided to make the best of that. On friday I went to my local market. Iought some beautiful tulips, that are still standing in front of me as we speak. They are so pretty. Besides that I bought some yoghurt-covered raisins and cookies. Saturday I had all the windows and doors opened while cleaning, and in the afternoon I continued my productivity by working on my thesis for a bit. This was the first time in the week that I actually felt like I could be a bit productive. Sunday was a slow day for me. Filled with a nice breakfast, reading, watching Formula 1, and having a typical girl dinner.

Oh, and I had the first ice cream of the spring. I started this season of with two nice scoops of lemon and bloodorange sorbet. It was delicious, and the walk to the ice cream shop was incredible. I can still feel the sun on my skin when I think about it.

I really hope that thenew week will continue like the end of this week. I'm feeling much better and am so positive about the things going on right now.

Love,

Kirsten
